Jennuine Design - Clipper Shorts

Hello!

I’m back with another pattern test from Jeunnine Design* . This time with an unisex short pattern, Clipper shorts. I love patterns which will work for my princess and my two trouble makers.

The pattern is versatile with three options for the front: a half placket with a buttoned waistband, a faux placket or no placket with a flat front waistband.

This pattern also comes with pattern pieces for colourblocking options. I’m planning to use this option for the boys.

With my red version I used the optional back felt pocket with contracting fabric. I love this so much. This version I also included an embellishment details with piping on the front pocket. The pocket are optional as well, making this pattern a staple in your PDF collection.

Both versions I completed during testing feature the above the knee Bermuda but the pattern also includes a cutting line for the mid-thigh Jamaica length. The sizing for the Clipper short is from newborn through 12 years. The instruction are really detailed on how to get the perfect fit on your short (increase/decrease length, increase crotch length). My first version (red) I got a little of bunching on the back crotch. My daughter needed a little bit more crotch length. I followed the instruction on how to increase the crotch length and my second pair (pink) was perfect.

The pink version also feature the Schooner Tee (my full review here) which is also on sale this week.

This is a perfect pattern for all those cute woven fabric. The Clipper Shorts and Schooner Tee & Dress* are presently at release price ($5), no code needed. There is a 25% off for the rest of the single PDF patterns with code CLIPPERRELEASE from now through June 21.  Furthermore on June 21, Jennifer will be running a sew along on her website, since there's so many options available and some of them a little more advanced.

Take care,
Nadine

Allo,

Nadine

The Fabric Geeks - Literary Darlings

Good day, I had a lot of fun again with The Fabric Geeks latest preorder Literary Darlings (available until June 12).  I introduced my princess to Anne (not sure why I waited so long). She started to read the book of this little red hair girl.

First up the fabric, this is a Cotton Lycra knit (95% Cotton & 5% lycra 58"/60" wide. 4W stretch, 250-270 gsm.)

For this project, I used the Hip Hop tank* from Love Notions.  This is the second time I used this pattern, see my Finding Dory version here which is unfortunately too small.

I used light woven at the back for style and I wanted to use the rest of the fabric for another project.  I love the details of this panel. For the size of the design, I used the adult size on my tiny 10 year old.

For project #2,  I used the sides of the panel as accent on the Greenstyle Girls Stride and 5 out of 4* Agility Tank.  My princess love this outfit. I have plans for a few more of those two patterns.

Nadine
